Very often, backpacks are loaded with odours of stale food and other stuff carried regularly by the owner. Opening a backpack to hand over requested documents to the interviewer can invariably let off these smells, leaving an unsavoury taste with interviewers. Straps of bags leave undesirable creases on clothes. Poorly maintained backpacks betray how you care for stuff.Wrong placement of mobile/ smart phoneMobile handset or smart phone is essential survival tool nowadays. It is imperative to carry it anywhere, including for interviews. A mobile phone placed wrongly can mar prospects at interviews. Smart phones come loaded with apps that let off noisy alerts whenever somebody sends a message. Somebody may call you while being interviewed. Flashing lights come up on phones whenever there are alerts, regardless of their importance. Beeps, blips, tweets, sounds, buzzes, sound and lights serve to distract interviewers. Phones switched to silent mode tend to vibrate, also causing sound and taking away attention of both, interviewer and job seeker. It is best to switch off your mobile phone and keep it away in your trouser pocket. Ladies can consign it to their handbags. Ambition and the Modern Careerist You don’t often hear about ambition these days; it’s a term that feels slightly old fashioned, like something out of Mad Men. Somewhere along the way, ambition went out of style, or at least showing it did. Recently, articles about Olympic snowboarder Shaun White reported that he is wildly unpopular among his fellow snowboarders despite the fact that he almost singlehandedly brought the sport to the world stage. Other snowboarders found his ambition to win unseemly. According to a February 2014 article for Slate Magazine by Justin Peters  and  Josh Levin, “Even though White is perhaps the bestâ€"and certainly the best-knownâ€"snowboarder in the world, he has never fit in with the sport’s mellow bro culture, in which everyone gets along and it’s gauche to admit that you care about victory.” Ambition is often associated (not always fairly) with ruthlessness and narcissism, and many people find it a repelling quality. We all want to be successful, but it should surprise us, falling onto our heads like an unexpected rain shower on a summer’s day. “Me, a vice president? Why, I’ve never considered it. But of course, I’m happy to accept” Wanting it feels so greedy. And then, if you obviously want it and don’t get it, you risk the Schadenfreude of all your competitors and enemies. But maybe we’re just rethinking our priorities. This prediction means that the activities and buyers journeys of these people need to be at the front of recruiters minds If people only use their mobile to interact with the web what does this mean for recruiting workflows? So Recruiters Can Rely on A Low Fibre Diet? With the prediction that your buyers have little need now for fibre networks, it makes them more mobile than ever. (No more letters to candidates asking them to be in the phone box tomorrow at 6 pm for their phone interview!) Adverts, website content, surveys, calls to action, email campaigns all of these need reviewing to take this trend into account The use of more traditional systems to communicate needs review (eg. email only).
